Rogaining

Rogaining is a team activity for people of all ages and levels of fitness. It provides competitors with navigational challenges, a way of enjoying the outdoors, and a sense of achievement. One of the attractions of Rogaining is visiting scenic locations. Others are the camaraderie and physical challenge of competing at your own pace.

Rogaining is the sport of cross-country navigation in which teams visit as many checkpoints as possible in events of 6, 12 or 24 hours duration. The longer events have a night component which provides extra challenges. Teams navigate between checkpoints in terrain that varies from open farmland to hilly forest. Route choice plays an important part as you plan your own adventure while hoping to maximise your points score in the allocated time.

Some events are set for mountain bikes and there events that have urban and parkland settings.

All events feature a mass start, score format and a Hash House at the end which makes for a great social gathering for competitors.
