New Changes in Eventor for Casual Registrations

New Eventor improvements have been released (July 2025)

  • Improvements have been made to the registration process of casuals so that they can quickly register themselves and other members of their family in a single process.  Only essential data is entered as can be seen in the attached quick guide below. Please take a minute to look over the attachment below.

  • The Date of Birth (DOB) in Eventor has been replaced by Year of Birth (YOB) which is now selectable from a pull-down list.  For orienteering we only need YOB so this change will remove the possibility of someone maliciously obtaining DOB data and using it for identity theft.  As a further data protection measure, the home address is no longer mandatory for casuals.  The Eventor Working Group is currently considering making home address also non-mandatory for club members but still leaving it available for those who want to receive the AO magazine by post. Please let the Eventor Working Group know if you have any comments about the possibility of making home address non-mandatory.
  • Changes have been added to Eventor so that if a casual takes out club membership within the same year, the casual membership is removed after they have completed payment of their club membership.   This prevents a person being listed as both a casual and a club member.
